Name Change....From Haggard Estates to West Park Estates

*****Update*****  As of 2013, this development is now named West Park Estates.

Many of us, especially our children, grew up driving past the Haggard Farm while running afternoon or Saturday morning errands!  What city the size of Plano has a real farm with cattle lazing in the pastures, llamas grazing under the trees and a field of maize waiting to be harvested, always reminding us that Plano was once a farming community?  Seeing the windmill has long been a favorite announcement of our three year old grandson, Little Man L, as his mama’s car approached the farm, “I see the windmill!”

Not too long ago we began hearing rumors that the Haggard Family had decided to sell this scenic spot, located on the corner of Custer Road and Park Boulevard,  a piece of prime real estate for sure.  And soon, construction equipment arrived on the North corner of this historic and once proud pasture, as the rumor turned to reality. Toll Brothers had purchased the land!  This future site of Haggard Estates is comprised of 59 acres on the northern half of the farm.  The project is currently in the land prep-stage, with an anticipated opening date of the Spring of 2013.

Toll Brothers is a fine home builder, known nationally for quality workmanship, style and the finished product.  One of their more recent and sought after Plano neighborhoods, that you may have seen, is Preston Lakes located off Ohio and Parker Road.  No doubt, like other Toll Brother communities, Haggard Estates will be a much sought after home site in the near future.  For more information, please click on the link… Toll Brothers/Haggard Estates
