Spring/Summer Staycation Ideas! Get To Know Your City Like A Tourist- DALLAS!

Spring is HERE, it is upon us, and summer is just around the corner. The weather is absolutely GORGEOUS, until we hit the high temp setting of summer, so…. let’s make the most of getting outside and enjoy spring in North Texas! If you are late to the planning party, here are some great ideas AND tons of links! Combine as few or as many of these ideas for a fun-filled weekend, a week-long staycation, or a season of getting to know your city! To get to know your city, see it like a tourist….
Dallas-
·Spend the day in the Dallas Arts Districttake a walking tour of the city , visit the Dallas Museum of Art (HELLO, IT’S FREE!!!!!), grab a bite to eat from one or two of the FAB food trucks around Klyde Warren Park, enjoy all that the park has to offer...it is a TON of FUN
·Ride the McKinney Avenue Trolley , see the Perot Museum, grab dinner with some live music at The Rustic, Pat Green’s restaurant & live music venue
·Visit the President George Bush Library on SMU campus, walk around and explore SMU
·Wander Bishop Arts District…shop, eat, take in the eclectic scene, sign up for a Dallas Food Tour
·Stroll the gorgeous grounds of the Dallas Arboretum during Dallas Blooms
·Visit the animal residents at the Dallas Zoo-make sure to feed the giraffes (!) because it is THAT dear of an experience, especially if you love animals
·Ride the DART green line to Deep Ellum and visit the shops, local artists and search out some live music or a poetry slam!
·Learn about the early days of The City of Dallas by visiting The Old Red Courthouse.You will never see the city in the same way again!
·Check out Dallas’ Art Deco Jewel, Fair Park.There are tons of family-friendly events, plus, strolling the grounds is a lovely way to spend an afternoon and enjoy this North Texas weather.
·Ride the DART and make Mother Earth and your wallet happy. Many of these locations can be reached by the DART, if you have an adventure’s soul, select a stop or two to disembark and explore. Check the DART website for information about attractions near each stop, and train schedules.
